Canadians and chess YouTubers Alexandra and Andrea Botez dropped into Chessboxing Nation to take part in some chessboxing training as part of their European tour. Andrea’s challenge to heavyweight northerner David Jarmany was met with contempt when he told the peace loving Canadian not to “worry her pretty little head about it”. This was followed shortly by embarrassment when Botez proceeded to pull apart Powerhouse’s defensive structure as if it were warm bread. Andrea was Trudeau-eque in the boxing rounds where Jarmany took a royal pounding too. Botez commented after the encounter, “We may share the same head of state but there is nothing regal about the state of David’s head.”

Battle of the Accountants
Both Lars “Lazarus” Björknäs and David “Northern Powerhouse” Jarmany are taking a well earned break from double entry, studying tax loopholes and saving rich people money on their tax bill. Jarmany called out Björknäs with a chilling video following Björknäs’ defeat in Helsinki in October. Many people wonder why accountants are able to save millions in tax for the wealthiest in society when public services are so underfunded. Jarmay told Chessboxing Nation:
“It’s not our fault the NHS in underfunded. We’re not idiots, we look at the laws as they are and not how some people believe they should be. If you don’t like the law then you should talk to the people who make them. I’ll give you a clue – it’s not us! ”
This good-hearted repartee will be put to one side on the 11th of December when 106kg of beauty meets the Northern Sledgehammer in the ring. This will be veteran Björknäs’ sixth fight and if you would like full stats on both fighters head over to the Chessboxing Database.
